Accessibility Statement

At TROBOLO, we believe everyone should be able to go off-grid, without any barriers. That goes for our toilets and for our online store. We want you to be able to find, compare and order your composting toilet easily, whether you use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, zoom in, or simply prefer clear and simple language.

This statement explains our commitment to making our online store accessible to people with disabilities, in line with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This statement applies to our online store at trobolo.us, including all product pages, the cart, the checkout and your customer account.

Our store in a nutshell

TROBOLO makes composting toilets that work without water, electricity or chemicals. In our online store you can:

  • browse and compare our composting toilets, kits, urine diverters and DIY sets,
  • read product details, dimensions, instructions and FAQs,
  • place an order and pay online,
  • track your shipment and contact our customer service,
  • return products under our refund policy.

How ordering works

  1. Choose your product: Open a product page, select the version you want (for example color or size) and click “Add to cart”.
  2. Check your cart: Open the cart to review your products, change quantities or remove items.
  3. Check out: Enter your shipping and billing address and choose a shipping and payment method. You can order as a guest or with a customer account.
  4. Review and buy: Check the summary with the total price, including sales tax and shipping costs. Click “Pay now” to place your order.
  5. Confirmation: You will receive an order confirmation by email, followed by a shipping confirmation once your package is on its way.

Prefer not to order online? No problem. Our customer service team will be happy to take your order by email and help you with any step along the way.

How we make our store accessible

We design and test our online store based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA. This includes the following measures:

Perceivable

  • Meaningful images, such as product photos, have text alternatives.
  • Text and important controls have sufficient color contrast.
  • Information is never conveyed by color alone.
  • You can zoom pages up to 200% without losing content or functions.

Operable

  • All functions, including the checkout, can be used with a keyboard only.
  • The keyboard focus is clearly visible.
  • A “Skip to content” link lets you jump straight to the main content.
  • There are no time limits that would stop you from completing your order.
  • Content does not flash in a way that could cause seizures.

Understandable

  • We use clear and simple language. Keep it simple, that’s our motto anyway.
  • Navigation and layout are consistent on all pages.
  • Form fields have clear labels. Error messages explain what went wrong and how to fix it.
  • The language of each page is set correctly, so screen readers read it out properly.

Robust

  • Our pages use clean, semantic HTML with proper headings, lists and landmarks.
  • The store works with current browsers and common assistive technologies, such as screen readers (for example NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver).

Conformance status

We aim for our store to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Our most recent review found no known accessibility issues. If you need information from a part of our store that is not accessible to you, just contact us. We will provide it to you in another way.

How we checked

This statement was prepared on October 20, 2026. The assessment was based on a self-assessment by TROBOLO, using automated tests and manual checks with keyboard and screen readers.

We review this statement at least once a year and whenever we make major changes to our store.
